Renter's pathway to homeownership

Atlas Real Estate Introduces Pathway to Homeownership Program for Renters

, ,

DENVER, Nov. 10, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Today Atlas Real Estate, a Denver-based residential real estate brokerage and property management company with offices in eight markets nationwide, announced the launch of a new program for renters designed to support a clear and attainable pathway to homeownership. The Atlas Uplift program provides resources and a number of tangible savings opportunities for renters leasing single-family properties owned by Atlas’ SFR Joint Venture across the West and Midwest.”The dream of owning a home should not be an exclusive journey,” said Tony Julianelle, CEO of Atlas Real Estate.

“Our mission at Atlas is to uplift humanity through real estate,” said Tony Julianelle, CEO of Atlas Real Estate. “Real estate ownership is one of the most viable ways of building long-term, generational wealth, and we believe in helping more people do that. We want to turn our renters into homeowners and homeowners into investors. We know there are a lot of circumstantial barriers to homeownership, but one of the biggest ones is coming up with a down payment. This program not only offers meaningful and accessible ways for renters to save real money—it also connects renters to resources and tools that will help them navigate the homebuying process down the road.”

According to Zillow, it takes the average American more than six years to save for a traditional 20% down payment. Most renters don’t realize they can buy a home with only a 3 – 5% down with FHA loans for first-time homebuyers. The Atlas Uplift program aims to get renters ready to become first-time homebuyers in just four years by keeping rent steady after three lease renewals, providing a free month’s rent and delivering a 1% broker commission rebate that they can put towards their own closing costs.

“Providing financial coaching and guidance to our renters is a critical part of the program,” said Michael Hills, Vice President of Brokerage of Atlas Real Estate. “Yes, we’re providing real savings, but we’re also helping our renters dispel misconceptions about homeownership and break down their own limiting beliefs about their ability to achieve this dream.”

“We’re not the biggest player in the single-family rental market, but we know we can make a difference,” Julianelle added. “The American Dream of owning a home should not be an exclusive journey. We hope this program spurs other ownership groups to step up and identify ways they can contribute to making homeownership more attainable.”

The Atlas Uplift program is available to new renters leasing single-family properties owned by Atlas’ SFR Joint Venture in one of nine markets across the Midwest: Boise, Colorado Springs, Denver, Fort Collins, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Tucson. To learn more about the additional support offered through the Atlas Uplift program, visit realatlas.com/uplift.

Since its inception in 2013, Atlas has become recognized as a leader in the real estate industry. The Denver Business Journal named Atlas as a Fast 50 Honoree, Bank of America selected Atlas as one of its Colorado Companies to Watch, and ColoradoBiz Magazine honored the firm with a Best of Colorado: Property Management award for five consecutive years in addition to the Best Residential Real Estate Agency award in 2021.

Atlas Real Estate CEO, Tony Julianelle, speaks to Fox 31 regarding Vaccine Clinic

View this story on Fox 31.

DENVER (KDVR) — A group of volunteers waved signs telling people about a walk-up vaccine clinic on Friday afternoon.

They stood outside the Park Church at 37th Avenue and Federal Boulevard. Drivers were encouraged to stop in for their instant COVID vaccine.

“It was very easy, very easy,” said Harrison Liu who had made a previous appointment at the clinic.

The vaccine clinic is being sponsored by the Atlas Real Estate, which manages properties in this north Denver neighborhood.

“A lot of our residents speak Spanish. We wanted to make it more available to them and just make it simpler,” said Atlas Real Estate CEO Tony Julianelle.

The group’s efforts come at a critical time as vaccination numbers have been dropping. Ten days ago, 61,500 daily vaccines were being administered in the state. The average number now is a little more than 50,000 a day.

Just this week, state run clinics began taking walk ups to boost the numbers. On Wednesday, Ball Arena had approximately 750 walk-ups like Robert Hauptman who rode the train here.

“Been having some trouble trying to get through to get a vaccine and I thought I’d see what it entailed to get it here,” said Hauptman.

Doctors say vaccines are needed more than ever before.

“Admissions to the hospitals are increasing, cases are increasing, the virus is spreading. The way to stop is for everybody to get vaccinated,” said UCHealth Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Richard Zane.

Back in north Denver, volunteers are doing what they can to help beat the virus one shot at a time.

Colorado Companies to Watch names Atlas Real Estate a 2020 award finalist

Colorado Companies to Watch (CCTW), presented by Bank of America, announced the finalists of its 2020 Colorado Companies to Watch Awards. This is the twelfth year CCTW has presented the annual award, a unique program that honors 50 high-performing, second-stage companies from across the state. Founded in 2009, CCTW recognizes the contribution high-growth small businesses make in Colorado’s economy through job creation, revenue generation, innovative products and services and philanthropic efforts.

“This year more than ever, we need leadership, innovation, motivation and inspiration as we navigate these unprecedented times. Colorado’s second-stage business community is positioned to lead us through this change, as they naturally demonstrate all the qualities that ignite our communities with potential beyond measure,” says Jill Terry, chair of the Board at Colorado Companies to Watch and assistant dean of the College of Business Graduate Programs at Colorado State University. “Our Finalists stand out above all others and are the driving force behind Colorado’s economy and are the hope for the state’s recovery. We are honored to recognize their success.”

Colorado’s second-stage companies have moved out of the startup phase and into a period of growth. The award-winning companies represent Colorado’s diverse economic landscape and have a significant impact on the state’s economy and will serve a critical role in the recovery of our current economic downturn. Collectively, they provide thousands of jobs and contribute millions of dollars in revenue.

The award draws more than 1,000 nominations every year. A panel of CCTW volunteer judges, that serve as industry leaders from across Colorado will come together to select 50 award-winning companies from the list of finalists. Winners will be announced later this summer.

Atlas Volunteers at Denver rescue mission

Over 700 Lunches Served at Denver Rescue Mission in Single Day

The lunch hour, especially on a cold and windy day, is especially busy at the Denver Rescue Mission. With hundreds looking for a hearty meal in a warm and safe environment, the line forms early and isn’t closed off until about 15 minutes prior to the end of meal service. As a part of the #AtlasGivesBack initiative, our team joined the Lawrence Shelter staff and other volunteers to prep – chopping, slicing, and cutting veggies, bread and meat –  and then served it to those waiting. One of the main reasons we love serving at the mission is because we get to be involved in the whole process and take pride in providing nourishment to someone who otherwise might not get it. Over 3,000 meals are provided in a single day, with the majority of those being served at lunchtime.

About the Denver Rescue Mission

The Denver Rescue Mission holds a special place in the Denver community and the hearts of many of its residents, including the Atlas Real Estate team. It provides emergency services, rehabilitation, transitional programs and community outreach to people effected by homelessness, meeting people at their unique points of need.

DENVER, Jan. 29, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Atlas Real Estate, a full-service real estate company specializing in investment brokerage, property management, and institutional acquisition, renews its support of the community and announces the opening of its new Denver headquarters.

At the close of 2019, Atlas offered rent relief to families experiencing financial hardships, and in January, paid their rent in full. Also, the company gave team members generous donations to give any charity of their choice, and the entire team supported Save Our Youth and participated in Joshua Station’s Toy Drive.

“As I reflect upon the year past, I am deeply grateful for the Atlas team and the community, clients, and friends that have demonstrated interest in and support of our work,” says Tony Julianelle, CEO. “In 2019, we doubled our staff, tripled in size, and increased our efforts to support the vibrant communities we love. In 2020, our rallying cry is ‘onward!'”

This year, Atlas will provide free real estate investment education at over 24 community events at various locations, including Atlas’ new headquarters at 970 Yuma St. Real estate investing has helped community members achieve financial independence, including a single mom who attended an Atlas event.

“Jen & Lisa really took care of me. They carved a path to financial freedom I never knew possible. They took my condo and turned it into eight doors with enough passive income, so I don’t have to work full-time. This is huge for a single mom! I love the support I receive from the Atlas Women’s REIH team.” – Sasha, Single Mother of 3

“At Atlas, we know firsthand how real estate investment can change your life, and I feel lucky to be able to provide our community with the tools needed to positively impact their financial future,” says Michael Hills, VP of Investment Brokerage. “Event turnout continues to increase, and it’s been wonderful getting to know and help new folks in the community.”

Atlas holds Real Estate Investment Hours (REIH) in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins, as well as in Phoenix, Arizona.

Atlas’ Colorado Springs office annual Thanksgiving Meal drive was once again a success. Thanks to monetary and in-kind donations from the community, Atlas team members and leadership, over $1300 was raised to provide meals for 30 residents in need. While the goal for this year’s fundraiser was to help 40 families, only 30 reached out to receive boxes. As a result, the drive has an overage and will roll it into a holiday toy drive next month! Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly to ensure these 30 families were able to enjoy Thanksgiving to the fullest, especially Rebecca, Maria, Angie, Jacob and Joe in our Colorado Springs office for spearheading the initiative, shopping, packing and delivering each box!

Ryan Boykin Provides Tips on Landlord Insurance in Fit Small Business

Ryan Boykin Provides Tips on Landlord Insurance in Fit Small Business

,

Every rental property owner needs a rental property insurance policy and the latest Fit Small Business article breaks down the details about this particular type of insurance. Atlas partner and co-founder, Ryan Bokyin shares his insight:

1. Know the Replacement Value of Your Property

The insurance company will underwrite the home based on your provided information, including the year the home was built, a visual inspection of quality from the outside, and any upgrades you document, such as granite counters, Jacuzzi tubs, and hardwood floors. Have the details prepared. If you’ve recently had the home built or finished major renovations, provide a copy of the contractors’ work orders and invoicing to show exactly what was done.

“Always try to get a policy that covers the RCV (Replacement Cost Value, aka what it would cost to replace your home today) instead of ACV (Actual Cash Value, aka what your home is worth today after depreciation). The difference is that an ACV policy reduces any claim about how old the property is. While this may not matter very much year two, you can potentially lose tens of thousands of dollars if you have the same coverage year 10.”

– Ryan Boykin, Co-founder, Atlas Real Estate
