Plan your family route, add A check-in point!
Halloween can be a busy time, sit down with your family and set out a route. For younger children it can be a fun interactive when given a simple drawn-out map. It can also be beneficial to pick a stopping point for check-ins as well as to regroup, avoiding getting spilt up.
Dinner beforehand
In order to make sure your little trick-or-treaters don’t fill up on Halloween candy its always best to eat a meal before, untimely deferring children from snacking as they go!
Insist treats have to be brought home before snacking
A second safety precaution when your children are accepting snacks and treats from strangers’ home, is to always double check the candy. Discard any open candy, homemade treats, and keep an eye out for anything out of the norm.
Costumes
Costume safety can be easily forgotten about, a few tips to keep in mind. Make sure yours or your child’s costume is flame resistant. Make sure costumes fit correctly in order to prevent tripping, falling, or even contact with an open flame. Lastly make sure your children or you have proper footwear, even if they don’t match the costume.
